College Football Playoff Rankings 2018: Top 25 projections for Week 10
By Zach Bigalke
Texas A&M was humbled on the road in Starkville, as they fell 28-13 to the Bulldogs while sporting a No. 16 ranking. Jimbo Fisher’s team failed to reach even 300 yards of total offense, as Mississippi State stifled their productivity especially on the ground. Added all up, and Texas A&M will be lucky to cling to a spot at the bottom of the first College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings on Tuesday.
The Aggies were unable to get things going, as Kellen Mond struggled to push the ball downfield. Mond finished 23-of-46 passing the ball, finishing with 232 yards with a touchdown and a pick. Mond added just two net yards on nine carries as well, on a night when the Aggies finished with only 61 total rushing yards.
While they will remain ranked, that will be effectively academic for the selection committee. Texas A&M is poised to play a spoiler role, but anything more than that is too much to expect for Aggies fans this year.
