2019 NFL Mock Draft: Projected first round after Week 9
If the Bills end up with the first pick, I think they would be a prime trade candidate because they need a lot of help and will not be competing for the next couple of years.
If they stand pat, I don’t see any way they can pass on Nick Bosa, even though a defensive end isn’t their biggest need. As long as Bosa’s physical checks out, I think it’s likely he will be the No. 1 pick barring a team trading up to grab a quarterback.
Bosa decided to withdraw from Ohio State in the middle of the season as he recovered from a core muscle injury. He is still prepping full-time for the NFL Draft. Much like his brother, Bosa is an elite pass rusher who racked up 17.5 sacks during his 29 games with the Buckeyes.
The Bills need help all over their offense; I just don’t think there’s an offensive player worth spending the No. 1 pick on. They could look at moving down with a team that covets Bosa so that they could acquire future draft capital.
They could also look at upgrading a putrid offensive line by taking one of the top offensive tackles in Alabama’s Jonah Williams or Ole Miss’ Greg Little, but I believe that would only happen if they moved back.
