Penn State Football 2018: 5 bold predictions for November
By Shane Lunnen
Penn State football hits the final month of the season with mixed emotions. What is in store for the Nittany Lions in the home stretch?
Penn State football has finished out October and they are now primed to move on to November. Fresh off a close win over Iowa, the Nittany Lions are sitting with a 6-2 record and are bowl eligible.
It was a weird October for Penn State. They opened the month with a bye week and it looked like they would bounce back after a heartbreaking loss to Ohio State. Instead, they fell flat against a struggling Michigan State team at home. Like they did against the Buckeyes, the Lions blew another fourth quarter lead and the Spartans ruined any shot of Penn State making the College Football Playoff.
After the loss to the Spartans, Penn State traveled to take on Indiana in hopes of refocusing. The Lions beat the Hoosiers, but not before they nearly squandered another fourth quarter lead. Then Iowa came for a visit to Happy Valley. With poor weather, Penn State got off to a slow start. The defense kept the Lions in the game until the offense finally woke up. It was close, as any Penn State game seems destined to be these days, but the Lions held on for victory.
Entering the final month, Penn State has some tough match-ups ahead. With the Big Ten East and playoff out of reach, the goal is to reach a New Year’s Six bowl game. Can they do it? Let’s make five bold predictions for Penn State in the month of November.
