5 One less undefeated?

The Central Florida Knights are still undefeated through week 10 of the college football season. However, Josh Heupel is rumored to be having issues with McKenzie Milton, although UCF is only releasing it as an ankle injury. The Knights were able to knock off the ECU Pirates without Milton in the lineup as he was replaced by Darriel Mack. Mack ran for 120 yards and a touchdown even after taking three sacks against the Pirates.

UCF with Milton has been turnover prone, without him the offense had to change from a pass-first approach to a run-first game plan. The Temple Owls started the season off with a loss to FCS Villanova, and then Buffalo before upsetting Maryland. Temple has also lost to Boston College on their way to a 5-3 record. If Heupel is really having issues with Milton, or if Milton doesn’t play, the Owls defense will keep UCF out of the end zone compared to their usual rate.

The Knights are 5th in the nation in points per play in Heupel’s high powered offense. But that offense is driven by Milton at quarterback and without him Temple’s 34th ranked offense in PPP could pose a scoring issue for UCF.

The other undefeated programs are Notre Dame, Clemson and Alabama. I will get to Notre Dame later but they have a tough schedule to wrap up 2018 with. The Tigers finish the season with Louisville, Boston College and Duke. Only the Eagles create a real threat at Clemson’s undefeated season. Alabama travels to Death Valley to face the LSU Tigers on November 3rd. The Crimson Tide still have to face Auburn and Mississippi State in the regular season before likely facing the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game.

Prediction: Temple beats UCF by 3
