In one of two SEC matchups that pit two Top-10 teams against one another, Georgia Football travels to Lexington to take on Kentucky with the SEC East on the line.

No one would have expected Georgia’s trip to Kentucky on Saturday afternoon having as much on the line as it does, but that’s where we are in what has been a thoroughly strange college football season to this point.

Both teams enter at 7-1 with everything still at stake, from the SEC Championship to the College Football Playoff. The winner takes the SEC East crown, and controls their own destiny to make it into the playoff.

Georgia used a dominant second half to roll past rival Florida last week in Jacksonville, bouncing back from a disappointing showing in Baton Rouge two weeks prior. Jake Fromm recovered from a lackluster performance against LSU with a strong performance against Florida. He’ll face his third straight outstanding defense in Lexington this weekend in what will be another stern test for him and the rest of the offense.

Kentucky bounced back from the depths of defeat a week ago in Columbia, coming back from a 14-3 deficit with just over five minutes to play to improbably knock off Missouri. Everything has turned up Wildcats this year despite some obvious flaws. Mark Stoops has Kentucky positioned to take the divisional crown if they can slay one more giant.

Georgia and Kentucky will serve as the undercard, the appetizer for the Alabama-LSU main course, but the game is just as important in the SEC and on a national stage as the Tide and Tigers battle in Baton Rouge. After Saturday, the SEC Championship Game could already be set.

Let’s take a look at some bold predictions for the SEC East showdown in Lexington.
