Texas Football: 5 bold predictions for November 2018
3. Big month for Charles Omenihu
The Longhorns school record for sacks in a season is 22.5 set by Kiki DeAyata in 1982. While 22.5 sacks would be hard to accomplish for senior Charles Omenihu, getting second on that list would be an accomplishment in itself. He has seven sacks on the season, matching his career total in just eight games.
For Omenihu to reach that feat in November, he’ll have to average almost two sacks in their final four games. While he is capable of doing so, we’ll go with a slower approach.
Omenihu will pick up a sack in each game in the month of November and force two fumbles.
This monthly performance would put Omenihu well on his way to ending his career on the all-time season sack list in Texas football history. And the forced fumbles would provide extra opportunities for the Longhorn offense to score and i a month in which every game matters.
The senior lineman is the X-factor on the Longhorn defense, and is primed to have a big month in Texas’ final push for a conference title.
