If anybody questioned just how good Alabama football was, the Crimson Tide and Nick Saban answered them Saturday night, shutting out LSU, 29-0.

Going on the road into a hostile SEC environment at night, the defending national champions completely dominated LSU, solidifying their hold on the top spot in the land with a 29-0 victory to improve to 9-0 on the season.

It was all Alabama from the start, jumping out to an early lead on the first of three touchdowns by Tua Tagovailoa. The Heisman frontrunner hit Henry Ruggs III from 15 yards out, adding a second score right before halftime.

After breaking free on a 44-yard run to make it 22-0 midway through the third, Tagovailoa directed a fifth scoring drive that ended in a touchdown run by Damian Harris to seal the deal.

At one point in the fourth, the Crimson Tide held a 551-133 advantage in total yards, including a 256-12 edge in rushing. About the only thing that went wrong for Alabama was Tagovailoa throwing an interception and a late injury to Najee Harris.

Nobody questioned Alabama being favored going into the game, but a two-touchdown spread seemed awfully high. The Tide, though, proved that wasn’t even enough.

Here are three takeaways from Alabama’s convincing win over LSU:
