Clemson football came out with something to prove today as they laid on 77 points at home against the struggling Louisville Cardinals to improve to 9-0.

Clemson entered the game as a 40-point favorite over the Louisville Cardinals and by halftime they were a mere eight points away from covering the spread.

The Tigers started the game off with a four play, 75-yard drive that was capped off by a 10-yard touchdown rush from Heisman-hopeful Travis Etienne. They followed it up with a 75 yard rush from Tavien Feaster for their second score of the game and Clemson found themselves up 14 points and it was only three minutes into the contest.

Louisville had its low points this season, but this seems to be the worst game they’ve played all season long and that includes the week one matchup against Alabama. The Cardinals gave up 611 total yards, had 10 penalties, and gave up a whopping 11 touchdowns. The one battle they did win today was the time of possession battle by holding the ball for 37 minutes compared to Clemson’s 22.

With the misery finally over for the Cardinals, what are we to make out of this merciless beatdown?
