Clemson Football: 3 Takeaways from Tigers trouncing of Louisville
1. Clemson is the only team that can contend with Alabama
Alabama is the undisputed No. 1 team in college football this season. Their offense is firing on all cylinders, their defense is trending in the right direction, and, most importantly, they have Tua Tagovailoa. Alabama could lose later tonight to LSU and still make the college football playoff without having to play in the SEC championship because they are simply that good.
Clemson and Alabama have given us three incredible showdowns and it’s building to that once again this season given how both teams are playing. Clemson’s play over the past several weeks only gives the CFP decision board more confidence in their top-two ranking. The Tigers offense is based mostly on the ground and proved against Florida State and NC State that if you devote your defensive front to the run then they will throw all over you with Trevor Lawrence.
No matter where Clemson or Alabama are ranked within the top four of the College Football Playoff rankings, their matchup will live up to their first two meetings in the playoff and will ultimately decide the winner once again.
