More: Predicting every College GameDay destination of 2018

College GameDay has featured former college football stars, musicians, actors, television personalities and everyone in between. The latest star to grace the Saturday morning stage is former LSU Tiger Alex Bregman.

Bregman played his college ball at LSU. The Tigers’ longtime shortstop was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft. Since then his exploits have been national news. Now the third baseman for the 2017 World Series Champion Houston Astros, Bregman has become one of baseball’s brightest young stars.

The young infield put himself in the MVP discussion following a strong 2018 season. He hit .286 with a .532 slugging percentage, 103 RBI, 52 doubles and 31 home runs. He was playing so well during the postseason that the Boston Red Sox pitched around him rather than giving him opportunities to do damage with his bat.

With the limelight has come some criticism. Bregman’s fiery nature makes him the kind of teammate you love to have and the kind of opponent that grinds your patience. He’s full of energy and doesn’t mince words. Who better then to join the College GameDay crew and provide the Saturday morning crowd with some entertainment away from the baseball field?

Bregman’s LSU Tigers host No. 1 Alabama on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. ET. The Tigers are 14.5-point underdogs, something that’s not too surprising given the sheer dominance Alabama has put on display this year. But stranger things have happened in college football. And do you really want to be on the wrong side of Alex Bregman?
