3. Bret Bielema, New England Patriots

Sure, Bret Bielema has had offers to return to the coaching game, but the 48-year-old continually says he is content and happy with being a consultant to Bill Belichick in the NFL. And while that might be true, could Bielema ignore the call if it comes from his former boss, Jeff Long, who was also his athletic director at Arkansas?

Bielema replaced a legend at Wisconsin when he stepped in for Barry Alvarez after serving as defensive coordinator. He later left for the job in the SEC, compiling a record of 97-58 at the two stops.

At Wisconsin, Bielema led the Badgers to 68 wins and three Rose Bowl games, winning 10-plus games four times. He never experienced that level of success with the Razorbacks, winning eight games once and just four his final season.

While there might be younger coaches out there available for Kansas, there are not as many with the credentials as that of Bielema, or the relationship with the athletic director.
