Georgia Football clinched the SEC East last week, and now sets their sights on a College Football Playoff push, starting this weekend against Auburn.

Georgia made quick work of Kentucky last week, turning the de-facto SEC East championship game into a route as the Bulldogs reasserted itself as the king of their division for the second year in a row. They will be making their second consecutive trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship, and they will be matched up with Alabama in a rematch of the College Football Playoff National Championship game from a year ago.

Their opponent in last year’s SEC Championship game was Auburn, and Kirby Smart’s crew avenged an earlier season loss to Auburn by throttling the Tigers in Atlanta to clinch a spot in the playoff.

The Bulldogs are in firm control of their playoff destiny if they win out, and with all three regular season games remaining in Athens, Georgia is a heavy favorite to make it to Atlanta with just the one loss, meaning their battle with Alabama will be a de-factor quarterfinal game.

First, they have to knock off Auburn in the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, and the Tigers are coming off of back-to-back wins at Ole Miss and at home against Texas A&M to renew some confidence within the program following consecutive disheartening losses at Mississippi State and at home to Tennessee.

Despite a complete inability to run the football last week, Auburn rallied from ten points down in the final five minutes of gametime to knock off Texas A&M 28-24. It was a must win for Gus Malzahn and company as the schedule tightens down the stretch, first with this week’s road game in Athens, and then the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa on the last weekend of the regular season. Last week’s win moved Auburn back into the committee’s Top 25, checking in at No. 24 on Tuesday night.

Auburn AD Allen Greene reaffirmed his commitment to Malzahn for 2019 and beyond this week, but it will be interesting to see if that faith remains if Auburn limps to the finish line at 7-5.

The Bulldogs are heavy favorites at home, but the Tigers have some momentum coming in. Can Auburn pull the upset?

Here’s three bold predictions for Saturday night’s game between the hedges:
