Georgia Football: 3 Bold Predictions for rivalry matchup against Auburn
2. Georgia scores a non-offensive touchdown
I projected Georgia to do this last week against Kentucky, but they weren’t able to pull it off. I’m rolling the dice on this train once again this week, piggy-backing off of my prediction that Stidham will throw a couple of interceptions.
Georgia has some playmakers in the defensive backfield, namely senior Deandre Baker and true freshman Tyson Campbell, who are more than capable of making plays with the ball in their hands. If either of them, or another member of Georgia’s talented secondary, can get their hands on the ball, they could very well make a house call in the other direction.
Georgia has netted four non-offensive touchdowns on the season, and they have come in a variety of ways. They’ve blocked a punt, returned a punt, netted a pick six, and had a scoop-and-score off of a fumble.
Along with a defense capable of making things happen, the Bulldogs boast a dangerous return man in Mecole Hardman, who housed a punt return against MTSU earlier in the season. Auburn has been strong in kick-coverages this year, so it would take a truly special return for Hardman to break through.
It’s far more likely that Georgia turns an Auburn turnover into a defensive touchdown this week, getting the Bulldogs back on the NOT train after being absent the past five weeks.
