3. Jake Fromm has a big day

Jake Fromm struggled in last season’s regular season loss to Auburn, completing under 50% of his passes as he was constantly harassed by the Auburn front seven. He rebounded from those struggles in the SEC Championship, however, by completing just under 73% of his throws for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns to help key a Georgia renaissance and a playoff berth.

Jake Fromm typically bounces back with big games following lackluster performances. After his worst game as a starting quarterback in a loss to LSU in Baton Rouge earlier in the season, Fromm rebounded with an outstanding performance in Jacksonville in a win over Florida that gave the Bulldogs control of the SEC East.

He wasn’t terrible last week against Kentucky; in the very least he avoided turnovers that could have allowed the Wildcats to keep the game tight and potentially steal a victory in the fourth quarter. But it was a rather pedestrian day for the sophomore QB as he managed just 113 yards passing and posted his second worst day in terms of passer efficiency on the season.

That means Fromm is likely in line for a bounce back performance, particularly with Auburn likely having to commit extra help in the box to slow down a potent Georgia ground attack led by D’Andre Swift and Elijah Holyfield.

Auburn’s defense hasn’t exactly lived up to its hyped billing this season, ranking just 36th in the country in total defense. Redzone stinginess has caused the fanbase not to sour on defensive coordinator Kevin Steele, as the Tigers have allowed only 8 touchdowns on 27 opposing redzone trips this season. But the Tigers have holes defensively, and give up their fair share of big plays, ranking 77th in ISOPPP+.

It’s their secondary that has the most holes, as they rank 57th in the country in giving up 222 yards-per-game through the air. I think Jake Fromm and his army of talented receivers such as Riley Ridley, Hardman, and Jeremiah Holloman, will exploit the weakness for some big plays as a big day for Fromm keys a Georgia romp.
