2. Irish claim largest margin of victory in series history

For the sake of clarity, this prediction isn’t claiming that the Irish will set the record for college football’s largest margin of victory. Considering that this feat was accomplished in a 222-0 Georgia Tech win over Cumberland College in 1916, predicting a result of greater proportions in 2018 would be pretty ridiculous.

What I am saying is that the Irish are in position to take back the largest margin of victory currently held by the Seminoles in the Notre Dame vs. Florida State series. This isn’t typically something teams fight over when heading into a game, but it is interesting to note considering the two very different directions that each program has taken in 2018.

As mentioned, Florida State currently holds the largest margin of victory between these two programs, courtesy of a 37-0 pounding of the Irish in 2003. With the tables now turned, Notre Dame will look to return the favor as they host the Seminoles at Notre Dame Stadium.

At this point in the 2018 season, Notre Dame currently averages over 10 more points per game while allowing over 10 points less per game than the Seminoles on offense and defense, respectively.
