LSU football came perilously close to ceding to a post-Alabama letdown, narrowly edging Arkansas 24-17 to improve to 8-2 on the season.

LSU improves to 8-2 on the season and head coach Ed Orgeron gets another bounce-back win. There were a lot of bright spots for both sides and it was a shockingly close finish as the Razorbacks refused to roll over and let the Tigers win.

What did we learn about both teams on Saturday night?

3. This really isn’t one LSU should be proud of

LSU played well enough to win this one, but honestly it should have been a much bigger margin of victory with how bad Arkansas has been this season. The Razorbacks are 2-8 on the season, a record that fans and the team themselves are quite ashamed of. This is a game LSU should have won by at least two touchdowns.

Yes, a win is a win, especially when you are fighting for a New Year’s Six berth and everyone else around you seems to be falling apart. However, the committee does look at the quality of your wins and while the Tigers have a strong resume, this one didn’t show everything the Tigers have.

In my opinion, this is not a game that the Tigers should be proud of. They have a lot of growing to do in this last part of the season to really see if they could find a way back into the College Football Playoff. If other teams ahead of them fall apart which could easily happen, making style points important.

To end this season, LSU will face off against Rice and then Texas A&M on the road. Keep your eyes on this Tiger team, they have potential.
