West Virginia Football: 3 takeaways from blowout of TCU in Week 11
2. West Virginia just has too many weapons
Warning to opposing defense: watch out. The Mountaineers just have too many offensive weapons for most teams, especially since the Big 12 isn’t known for defense.
No, I’m not exactly talking about the run game as Kennedy McKoy and the Mountaineers were only able to muster 164 yards on 4.1 yards per carry, which isn’t all that bad, but the passing attack led by Will Grier was nothing short of impressive yet again.
We all know what Grier brings to the table. He’s a Heisman candidate with one of the best arms in America, but his weapons are growing by the week.
Everyone knows David Sills V and Gary Jennings, but Trevon Wesco led the team in receiving with five catches for 89 yards and a touchdown, Marcus Simms added three catches for 69 yards and two other receivers finished with at least two catches.
Eight players caught a pass for West Virginia and six of them had at least two catches. Talk about a plethora of weapons.
