USC football took a lead into halftime against Cal, but Second-half adjustments saw Cal pull out the win thanks to strong defense and several short fields.

California went to Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with a 14-year losing streak against USC on the line. The Golden Bears and the Trojans both sat at 5-4 in the standings, and one or the other was going to become eligible for postseason play with the result in Pac-12 After Dark action on Saturday night.

USC looked to have the advantage, as they ran up a 14-0 score before halftime and were unlucky to come away with more. Less than a minute before the intermission, with the Trojans pushing into the red zone, Amon-Ra St. Brown kept fighting for yardage and was stripped of the football.

That miss proved costly, as Cal turned things around in the locker room at halftime and made every possible adjustment that would make a difference. The defense shut out the Trojans in the second half, and taking full advantage of good fortune in the third quarter, reversed fortunes as the Golden Bears broke their losing streak in a 15-14 victory.

What did we learn about these two sides from the upset at the Coliseum? Keep reading for three takeaways from Los Angeles in Saturday night action to wrap up Week 11.
