2. Clemson Tigers

Boston College had everyone putting Clemson on upset alert this week. And after the first quarter, it was still possible to knock off the No. 2 team in the country with Boston College only trailing by three points. But by the end of regulation, the scoreboard read 27-7 in favor of Clemson.

Clemson quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, had a solid game completing 29-of-40 passes for 295 yards, with a touchdown and an interception.

However, it was the Tigers’ defense that really stood out. Prior to the Week 11 matchup, Boston College was averaging over 35 points per game. The Tigers came into their home stadium and held BC to only seven points. Furthermore, Boston College had only 113 total yards and a mere eight first downs. Clemson also forced two touchdowns. This level of defensive play may give the Tigers a chance against Alabama.

Left on Clemson’s schedule are two home games against Duke and South Carolina. Neither game will be absolutely guaranteed, but both should easily be double-digit wins. It would behoove Clemson to continue to win by large margins in order to secure their spot at No. 2.
