Chad Morris and Arkansas football will do the absolute best it can to get a lot of interest from Kelly Bryant in the final month before his decision date.

The official transfer date was announced for the former Clemson Tigers standout quarterback Kelly Bryant this year. Per reports from Rivals.com, Bryant has his commitment date set as a graduate transfer to become immediately eligible on Dec. 4. There were a ton of schools vying for Bryant’s attention, especially Arkansas football, since he originally announced his intentions to transfer earlier this season.

One that stands out immediately is the Arkansas Razorbacks, who caught the attention of Bryant due to his past connection with the head coach. Head Arkansas football coach Chad Morris has the past ties with Bryant dating back to his days as an assistant under Dabo Swinney at Clemson. Morris played a pivotal role in the recruitment of Bryant to Clemson.

However, there are more than five schools that are seemingly in the mix to land Bryant’s pledge. Sources such as The State indicate that Bryant is down to six schools including the Mizzou Tigers, North Carolina Tar Heels, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, Miami Hurricanes and Arkansas. Bryant also made an official visit to the Pittsburgh Panthers, but that interest seems to have dwindled.

With the focus here falling on Bryant’s potential fit with Morris and the Arkansas football program, let’s take a look at how that fit would be pieced together. Bryant’s dual-threat ability and past experience in leading Clemson to an ACC Championship and the College Football Playoff would be very welcome additions to the Arkansas locker room.

Moreover, Morris runs a system that is comparable to what the Clemson offense has in place. The familiarity factor would play a big role in Bryant potentially landing with the Razorbacks on Dec. 4. Bryant could choose where he is most comfortable, and Arkansas fits the bill there.

Arkansas is a program that should be trending up under the direction of Morris in the SEC West very soon. He immediately turned this program around on the recruiting trail, and has some promising talent lined up to make its way to Fayetteville, AR, starting next year.

We here at Saturday Blitz would not be the first to put Bryant in favor of Arkansas for his final commitment decision. Per Saturday Down South, national SEC pundit Paul Finebaum stated that he thought “there’s a great chance” that Bryant lands with the Razorbacks.

If the Hogs are able to claim stake to Bryant, it would make the outlook for this team much brighter for the 2019 campaign. He would bridge the gap between when the Arkansas Razorbacks can contend with a host of young talent about to make its way to Fayetteville with the amount of time it will take the coaching staff to develop them. Arkansas should be the odds-on favorite to land Bryant.
