Thursday night

Tulane at Houston, 8:00 p.m. EST, ESPN

This is one of those somewhat-good-but-actually-pretty-bad weekday games I was talking about. Both teams are capable of scoring a lot of points, and probably will, given the level of defense in this game (Tualne’s is decent, Houston’s isn’t). Whichever team wins has a great shot at winning the AAC West, though they’d need SMU to lose to either Memphis or Tulsa.

One sentence sell: Who doesn’t like a little AAC football?

FAU at North Texas, 9:30 p.m. EST, CBSSN

FAU has been disappointing this year, given their lofty preseason expectations, but the Owls are still pretty solid at 5-5, and have won two straight. Meanwhile, North Texas has been awesome, despite a baffling loss to Old Dominion last week. This should be an offensive battle, and while it doesn’t have many implications in the C-USA, it’ll be fun football.

One sentence sell: Late night Lane!
