The time of year has arrived where underperforming college football teams blame their coach for everything. Who must win in Week 12 to avoid that?

David Beaty is out at Kansas. Bobby Petrino is out at Louisville. Mike MacIntyre is surprisingly out at Colorado. Major Applewhite is fighting on the sideline with his player over a jacket while blowing out Tulane on a Thursday night.

People are calling for the end of the Bill Snyder era at Kansas State. Willie Taggart is consistently calling out his players for their lack of effort in what has been a poor season for the Seminoles. Urban Meyer is having quite the year and who knows what the offseason will bring him.

All around, if your name isn’t Nick Saban, people are finding ways to criticize and look for a reason to fire you. The question now is this: who is next on this roller coaster that is college football?

5. Tom Herman, Texas

Go ahead and get upset at me for bringing this guy up again, but at this point he needs to win and he needs to do it right now. Sine skyrocketing up the AP poll and nearly into the top-five, this team has been disappointing to say the least. In Week 11, they nearly lost to Texas Tech — again. That is a team that got blown out by the likes of Ole Miss — a team that is the near bottom of the SEC West.

Had he lost that game? We would be having the same conversation, but it would be ten times worse for Herman. He has to remember that a few strong games isn’t enough when you are the head coach at the University of Texas. It never will be. The alumni of that school treasure that program and have no issue with pushing a head coach out of their seat who isn’t putting together what they are expecting out of their program.

If you haven’t seen the Twitter beef between Zach Smith, the coach that Herman basically threw under the bus while getting Urban Meyer suspended for a quarter of the season, and Tom Herman, that is another big issue that is making Herman’s seat hotter and hotter.
