4. Brian Peavy is lockdown

Brian Peavy has held opposing wide receivers on an island for much of the 2018 season. Peavy comes into Saturday’s contest with 34 tackles, three tackles for loss, a sack, two forced fumbles and leads the Cyclones with eight pass breakups. Peavy has garnered some high praise, including from Pro Football Focus, who has Peavy tied with Georgia cornerback Deandre Baker as the nations highest-graded cornerback.

Peavy will have his hands full with Lil’Jordan Humphery, who has been one of the most explosive receivers in college football this year with nearly 1,000 receiving yards through the Longhorn’s first ten games.

If there is anyone up to that challenge, it is Brian Peavy, who along with Tennessee-transfer D’Andre Payne, provide the best cornerback tandem in the Big 12 and have done a superb job all year.
