Penn State football looks to close out the 2018 campaign with a third consecutive 10-win season. What bowl game is likely for the Nittany Lions?

It has not exactly been the kind of season Penn State fans were dreaming about at the beginning of the year. Expectations may have been a little high considering the personnel the Nittany Lions needed to be replaced. Still Penn State has some fun bowl destinations they could be headed to this postseason.

The Lions started the season with a closer than expected win over Appalachian State in overtime. That should have been a sign of trouble to come, but the next three games were all blowout victories over Pitt, Kent State and Illinois.

Next the Lions welcomed Ohio State for a prime time White Out game. The Lions saw a 12-point lead with eight minutes to go evaporate and the Buckeyes left State College one point victors. While the loss stung, what came next after a bye week was the nail in the coffin. Penn State had a lackluster performance against Michigan State. The Spartans hung around the whole game and with 19 seconds left scored the game-winning touchdown.

The Nittany Lions never seemed themselves even in close victories against Indiana and Iowa. Then came the demoralizing blowout loss at Michigan. Penn State did get back on track with a victory against Wisconsin last week. The game was the first one in awhile that never seemed like Penn State was going to lose.

At 7-3, Penn State has games left against Rutgers and Maryland. Unless the unthinkable happens, the Lions look like a lock for a nine win regular season with a chance to make it 10 wins in the bowl game. Here are their top three likely destinations this year.
