3. Brett Rypien remains on fire for Broncos

Brett Rypien has had a lot to live up to over the years. The nephew of former NFL great Mark Rypien, the Spokane, Washington native took over as quarterback at Boise State in 2015 and has virtually taken every snap since.

Rypien has thrown for over 3,000 yards in three of his four years at the controls, with three seasons of at least 20 touchdown passes. His completion percentage has risen each season, as well, hitting a high of almost 69 this year.

Against an overwhelmed New Mexico defense, Rypien was efficient and effective, completing 17-of-27 for 222 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He has thrown for at least 200 yards in six consecutive games, which have all been wins for the Broncos.

Rypien has been very good on the road this season, throwing 19 touchdowns and just three interceptions, which all came in one game. That includes a 39-of-56, 380-yard, three-touchdown performance vs. Oklahoma State in Stillwater back in September, and a more recent five-touchdown, 399-yard showing at Air Force.
