College Football Playoff Projections 2018: Week 13
With just one week left in the college football regular season, the playoff picture is slowly becoming more clear. Here’s the most likely scenario.
With one week left in the regular season, the number of possible teams that may be selected for the College Football Playoff is still relatively large. From the Pac-12, Washington State looks strong, and will likely only have one loss after the Pac-12 Championship Game. Oklahoma, out of the Big 12 still only has one loss as well. Either of these teams could be conference champions with one loss.
The Ohio State Buckeyes could come out of the Big Ten as a one loss conference champion, however their embarrassing loss to Purdue earlier in the season, paired with a one point win over Maryland in Week 12, will likely prevent them from being selected to the College Football Playoff.
The Georgia Bulldogs will have a strong argument for a spot in the playoff if they can beat Alabama in the SEC Championship Game. However, at the moment, Alabama looks unstoppable.
Lastly, we have UCF. The UCF Knights showed the college football world what they were all about in Week 12, when College GameDay came to campus. Should they finish the season undefeated, the Knights will end up at No. 5 in the College Football Playoff rankings, with the assumption that these Top 4 teams win the rest of their games.
