College Football Playoff Projections 2018: Week 13
1. Alabama Crimson Tide
Alabama confused everyone in Week 12 due to their lack of offensive efficiency to start the game against The Citadel. Heading into halftime, the score was tied 10-10. Yet, it appeared as though nobody really felt the Alabama win was ever in question.
The Citadel runs the triple-option offense, which can explain the early hiccup for the Crimson Tide. The triple-option is designed to control the clock and level the playing field between teams that have a large disparity in athleticism.
Eventually, Alabama ran away with the game and won, 50-17. The Crimson Tide will play Auburn in Week 13 in the Iron Bowl, then Georgia in the SEC Championship Game. And frankly, there doesn’t appear to be doubt in anyone’s mind that Alabama will come out on top. Even with Tua Tagovailoa’s and Jalen Hurt’s health in question, the Crimson Tide will still have no issue getting to the College Football Playoff.
