ACC Football Power Rankings: Is it time to believe in Pitt?
There weren’t many bright spots in Duke’s 35-6 loss to second-ranked Clemson on Saturday night. After jumping out to a 6-0 lead after the first quarter it was all downhill after that as the Blue Devils gave up three touchdowns on the ground and nearly six yards per carry.
After a blistering start to the game, with both teams scoring points in the first quarter, the Cavaliers couldn’t slow down the Georgia Tech option offense as they fell 30-27. Virginia couldn’t do much running the ball, with 33 carries for 130 yards and a score. The Hokies and Cavaliers face off this weekend and Virginia will look to pick up their eighth win.
Traveling to Tallahassee hasn’t been good for the Eagles, as they fell to just 2-6 all-time against the Seminoles on the road, with the average score 29-21. AJ Dillon struggled to move the ball against the Florida State defensive line, carrying the ball 37 times for 116 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles finish the regular season with 20th ranked Syracuse arriving in Chestnut Hill and will look to move the divisional standings with a win.
