Mississippi State football got revenge over their in-state rivals, dusting Ole Miss win the Egg Bowl and reclaim the Golden Egg Trophy.

It took a minor miracle for Ole Miss to escape the 2017 Egg Bowl with a win. Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald suffered a nasty injury, the Bulldogs committed five turnovers and Ole Miss snuck away with a three-point victory.
Ole Miss got no such literal or figurative breaks this year. Mississippi State opened up a 14-0 lead and coasted into halftime up 21-3. The Rebels tried to get the offense moving, but it was too little too late as the home team secured the Golden Egg on Thanksgiving night.
Tempers flared before the game was through, resulting in a bench-clearing brawl and three ejections, a fitting end to a fiercely competitive rivalry contest.
