West Virginia football is one win away from a trip to the Big 12 Championship game. Here’s why they’ll best Oklahoma and punch their ticket.

Since joining the Big 12 the West Virginia Mountaineers have been through their highs an lows. In the midst of their erratic play, Oklahoma has remained a steady force at the top of the conference standings. West Virginia has been ranked twice when they met Oklahoma during the season (2015, 2016). Conversely, Oklahoma has been ranked on all six occasions and been inside the Top 8 in three of the last four games.

Regardless of who was ranked where the results have been the same: Oklahoma over West Virginia, and by a steadily increasing margin. History hasn’t been kind to the Mountaineers, but the future is bright

Games aren’t played on paper, and as much as Sooners would like to maintain their wins over the previous half-decade matter, they won’t have any impact on their game on Friday.
