UCF football survived USF to close out the Knights’ second straight undefeated regular season. But the win proved costly as McKenzie Milton was carted off the field.

Thanks to a 38-10 victory over rival South Florida on Black Friday, No. 9 UCF can now boast a winning streak that has extended to 24 games and counting. As they head into their American Athletic Conference championship game showdown against Memphis on the first Saturday of December, the Knights have tons of momentum.

But the 24th victory did not come without some significant costs, as the Knights await a verdict on the status of McKenzie Milton’s right leg. UCF was able to cope with the loss of their starting quarterback, but that is a story that will be worth tracing over the next week heading into the title game against the Tigers.

The Knights showed against the Bulls that they have plenty of talent to pick up the slack. But Josh Heupel and his staff will be forced to make some key changes to the way they operate on offense if Milton is unable to go next week.

After claiming the War on I-4 for a second straight year against the rival Bulls, there are some positives and some negatives that we can take away from this game. What did we learn about the Knights after the showdown at Raymond James Stadium? Keep reading for three takeaways from the costly victory by UCF on Friday afternoon.
