Georgia Football: 3 takeaways from Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate blowout

2. Jake Fromm continues to evolve as a quarterback and leader
Jake Fromm might never end up being the type of quarterback that dazzles with the type of numbers regularly posted by players like Will Grier and Gardner Minshew. Only once in his career has he posted a 300-yard passing day, and even reaching 200 yards is never a given for the sophomore.
That is by design, though. In the Georgia offense, Fromm frankly is never going to be asked to put on the kind of aerial display seen elsewhere around the country. Part of that is the aforementioned fact that the Bulldogs boast so much rushing talent in the backfield. And another part of that is the simple fact that Fromm is perfect for the system in which he has thrived the past two years.
Against Georgia Tech, Fromm went off for 175 yards on 13-of-16 passing. The sophomore threw for four touchdowns, showing he is able to finish drives with his arm when called upon to do so for the Bulldogs. And while he finished with only one run for a single yard, Fromm effectively evaded the Yellow Jackets pass rush all day long. Fromm, most importantly, offers a consistent presence under center that allows the rest of the offense to thrive around him.
