Kentucky football‘s season took a nose dive after a loss to Georgia. However, it will end on a high note as they route Louisville 56-10.

The Kentucky Wildcats had dreams of winning the SEC East. They had dreams of knocking off Georgia much like they had Florida. However, that dream was killed as quickly as it began after back-to-back losses against Georgia and Tennessee. They also struggled to take down Middle Tennessee. However, there was no struggle as the Wildcats closed their season on the road at Louisville.

The biggest surprise of this win for the Wildcats? They were actually able to get their offense up and running for big-time numbers. I don’t know if it is because they finally gave Benny Snell (and apparently Asim Rose) the chances that he deserves or if something in Terry Wilson woke up and realized that offense was actually necessary to win games, but something happened and the Wildcats were able to put Louisville away early.

Sophomore Asim Rose finished with 112 yards, Benny Snell with exactly 100. Terry “Touchdown” Wilson threw three touchdowns to just one interception, finishing 17-for-23. Their already known defense held Louisville to 305 total yards of offense, including one rushing touchdown in the first quarter and a field goal in the second.

For Louisville, they fall to 2-10 on the year. It was an abysmal year for the Cardinals that resulted in head coach Bobby Petrino being relieved of his duties. That, of course, may be the best thing that ever happened to this team. It seemed that Lamar Jackson was the real coach of this team while he was at Louisville and him leaving was the nail in the coffin for Petrino.

This was a game that was dominated from the first snap by the guys in blue, not that anyone expected any different. The Wildcats aren’t destined for a championship of any kind nor are they set for a New Years Six Bowl- in my opinion- but a 9-3 season isn’t anything to be ashamed for a school that is known for basketball more than anything. For Louisville, better luck next year though.
