1. Trace McSorley will be missed in Happy Valley

This one seems fairly obvious, but it deserves to be noted. Penn State has gotten plenty from senior quarterback Trace McSorley and he’s led this program to plenty of success, including a Big Ten title and a Rose Bowl appearance, but his career in Happy Valley has ended — at least at home.

The talented quarterback will suit up as a Nittany Lion just one more time, which seems surreal given how used to him everyone around college football has become. He’s an exciting talent and made everyone around him better.

Penn State is going to miss having this kid in Happy Valley as replacing him surely isn’t going to be easy. He’s given this university so much and turned around a team back in 2016 that no one expected to contend for the Big Ten title after a Michigan blowout.

McSorley finished his last game in Beaver Stadium with 230 passing yards and a touchdown and he rushed for another 64 and two scores. There won’t be another player like him for quite some time in a Penn State uniform.
