Syracuse Football: 3 takeaways from big road win over Boston College
1. Syracuse looks like a New Year’s Six team
Though it would require plenty of help from some underdogs on Saturday and into conference championship week, Syracuse looked like one of those New Year’s Six caliber teams against Boston College.
The Orange defense stepped up, Eric Dungey led the offense to 42 points despite not being at full-strength and the offense was just exciting, especially since Dontae Strickland also stepped up. Syracuse would be a great team to see in the New Year’s Six because there aren’t too many teams out there that would be able to handle the Orange with ease.
If you’re looking for some college football excitement, look no further than the Orange. Despite losing to Notre Dame in blowout fashion the week before, the Orange didn’t let that get them down this week, going on the road to pick up a big win over a 7-4 Boston College team that had been bouncing in and out of the rankings all year.
The New Year’s Six will have an at-large spot open for a team like Syracuse to sneak in, but will enough happen to help the Orange out in the bowl selection process?
This would be quite the one-year jump for Dino Babers who went 4-8 a year ago. His stock is surely rising.
