College Football Playoff Rankings 2018: Top 25 projections for Week 14
By Zach Bigalke
Not everyone was thankful on Thanksgiving weekend. Here is how the College Football Playoff Top 25 rankings will shake out before championship week.
Thanksgiving is a time for reflection, and for celebrating all that has been good over the past year. It is also a time to watch a bunch of college football teams duke it out with their most hated rivals over an extended calendar of action that spans several days over the holiday weekend.
It doesn’t matter where a rival might be ranked. Every rivalry showcase offers the opportunity for suspense, for upsets, for heartbreak and glory.
When a team is ranked, though, it makes a rivalry game all the more suspenseful. For the top three teams in the country, everything went to chalk. No. 4 Michigan, on the other hand, didn’t have such an easy time on Saturday. Their trip to Columbus was the biggest domino to fall on a weekend where most of the Top 25 teams pulled through over the weekend.
Not everything went to chalk, though, as overtime and upsets did help shake up the Top 25 some heading into championship weekend. Not only will several highly-rated teams fall down the ladder, but other teams lower down the rankings entering Thanksgiving week will tumble completely out of the Top 25 this week. Click ahead for the latest projections for how the College Football Playoff selection committee will sort out the penultimate Top 25 rankings of 2018.
