College Football Playoff Rankings 2018: Top 25 projections for Week 14
By Zach Bigalke
Fresno State, already locked into a spot in the Mountain West championship game as the MWC West champion, sealed their 10th win of the 2018 season as they made short work of conference cellar dweller San Jose State on Saturday evening. The Bulldogs came through 31-13, downing the Spartans with more than 500 yards of total offense.
Marcus McMaryion threw for 317 yards and two touchdowns on 20-of-29 passing. The quarterback added 30 yards on three well-timed carries, putting the Bulldogs into positive situations. Ronnie Rivers led the way on the ground with 90 rushing yards, while Jordan Mims added 55 yards and a touchdown in limited action for Fresno State.
Now the Bulldogs get to take on Boise State in a Mountain West title rematch that also offers a chance at vengeance for their earlier loss this season in the Battle for the Milk Can. If Fresno State manages to take down the Broncos and avenge that defeat, they could be in the running for the Group of Five spot in a New Year’s Six bowl game should UCF falter in the AAC title game.
