Syracuse fell behind 7-0 to Boston College on the road late in the first quarter on Saturday afternoon in Chestnut Hill. The Eagles stayed ahead for a grand total of 11 seconds, as the Orange scored on the first play of the ensuing drive and built an insurmountable lead en route to a 42-21 win to close out a 9-3 regular season.

Eric Dungey finished 21-of-34 for 362 yards, with three touchdowns and a pick, on a day where the Orange remained on pace for a 10-win season. Dungey also scored three touchdowns on the ground as he added 34 rushing yards on 18 total carries. Dontae Strickland was the real catalyst on the ground, though, as the running back finished with 129 rushing yards for Syracuse.

Now the Orange await their bowl destination, which could still turn into a New Year’s Six destination depending on how things shake out with the College Football Playoff selection committee. Look for Syracuse to move up a few spots this week into the high teens as they await the results of championship weekend.
