In a game that went on forever, Texas A&M football finally took down LSU. This team seems to have finally turned the corner. Are the Aggies for real?

The Aggies have been looking for a win over LSU for quite a while. The last time they beat LSU was in 1995. Since joining the SEC in 2012, the Tigers have swept the Aggies year in and year out. This one, however, was different. Every ounce of heart and soul from every single player was put on the field every single down. This was a team win in every single aspect and that in itself is beautiful.

What did we learn about the Ags from this College Station thriller?

3. Kellen Mond showed toughness and confidence we haven’t yet seen.

This season has been a roller coaster for the Aggies, especially for Kellen Mond. He has shown improvement in some areas and regression in others. At times, fans were calling for Mond to be benched due to bad decisions and the inability to snap back after mistakes were made. The Auburn game is a prime example. When Mond threw an interception late in the fourth quarter, everything fell apart for the Aggies.

They could have easily allowed that to happen when Trayveon Williams fumbled the ball and LSU ran it back to tie the game. They went on to score again to take the lead and all hope seemed to be lost for the Aggies. However, instead of giving up though with their backs against the wall and one second on the clock, this happened…

Seven overtimes later, the Aggies walk away with the win and lots to be proud of. The biggest takeaway from this one though is easily how Kellen Mond grew up from snap to snap in this one. Honestly, the Aggies wouldn’t have survived a game like this a few weeks ago. Now though, Mond has shown his coach and the fan base that he has every ability to make magic happen for Texas A&M.
