Utah football looked down in out in the first half of their Holy War showdown against BYU on Saturday. The Utes pulled off a second-half comeback at home.
After one half of play in Salt Lake City, Utah was down 20-0 against BYU at home. It looked like the Pac-12 South champions were destined to suffer their fourth loss of the season against their non-conference rival as they headed to the locker room, putting the Utes in danger of falling completely out of the College Football Playoff Top 25.
But Kyle Whittingham’s team proved resilient against the Cougars, coming back in the second half to pull off a 35-27 victory on their home field at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Kyle Whittingham’s team now heads into their Pac-12 championship game showdown against Washington with the momentum of three straight victories.

Nevertheless, Utah will be headed to Santa Clara after claiming their first division title since moving to the expanded Pac-12 in 2011. They are the last Pac-12 South team to get a shot at the conference title since the expansion.
