The college football regular season is over and 2019 NFL Draft prospects are almost out of chances to make statements on the field. How does that impact the latest NFL Mock Draft?

With conference championship weekend and bowl season all that is left in the 2018 college football season, there aren’t many on-field opportunities for the top prospects for the 2019 NFL Draft to separate themselves from the pack.

Defense will likely dominate the first round of the draft this year because of the plethora of outstanding prospects on that side of the football. Particularly along the defensive line, quality players can be had at the end of the first round, and potentially even second round as teams reach to fill needs.

The most interesting subplot of the first round this year is how many quarterbacks will be taken. At the moment, only Oregon’s Justin Herbert has solidified himself as a first round prospect. Players like Missouri’s Drew Lock, West Virginia’s Will Grier, NC State’s Ryan Finley, and even Duke’s Daniel Jones, are all in the conversation for the No. 2 QB in this class, and any of the quartet could find themselves taken in the first round as clubs look to find their signal caller of the future.

If Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins, a redshirt sophomore, declared for the draft then I would probably have him as the No. 2 QB and a likely first round prospect. As is, I still think he ends up back in Columbus for another year.

The Raiders boast the most draft capital in the first round, possessing three first round picks after trading star players Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper to the Bears and Cowboys, respectively. With the Bears and Cowboys both as projected playoff teams, those selections aren’t quite as sexy as they looked when the deals were first made, although Oakland could potentially package their two late round selections to move up, or they could hang on to all three and fill out several positions of need as Jon Gruden builds his roster.

How many quarterbacks will be taken in the first round? How will the Raiders utilize their three first round picks? Whose stock has risen, and whose has fallen the last few weeks?

Let’s take a look at our latest 2019 NFL Mock Draft and find out:
