The 2018 Heisman Trophy saw a heartbreaking injury to one of the major candidates and rivalry weekend had a number of big twists and turns.

The 2018 Heisman Trophy race has been one of the best we have seen in a long time, with excellent quarterbacks and running backs stealing the spotlight at various times throughout the season.

However, as a few stars have broken out there was a major concern for the fans of one major player included in our honorable mentions this week.

No. 7: McKenzie Milton, Quarterback- UCF Knights

The Knights have run roughshod over the competition for the last two seasons, as the excellent playcalling on offense combined with the speed on defense has made them a formidable opponent for anyone across the field from them. In their game against USF this past weekend candidate McKenzie Milton was injured in one of the toughest injuries we have seen on a college football field. Milton put up impressive numbers this season (25 touchdowns, six interceptions) and we can only hope he returns to form when he gets back on the playing field.

No. 6: Jonathan Taylor, Running back- Wisconsin Badgers

Taylor has put up excellent numbers all season, but it hasn’t translated into wins for an underachieving Wisconsin team. Their loss to Minnesota defined his season, as he ran for 120 yards on 19 carries but the Badgers defense gave up 37 points. Taylor will crack the 2,000-yard mark during bowl season and hopefully be a consistent candidate for the trophy next year.

Now let’s take a look at our top five rankings this week!
