Washington and Washington State put some distance between themselves and Stanford this year, as the Cardinal struggled against ranked teams. Stanford failed to win a game vs. a team in the Top-25 this year, but went 7-0 against those not ranked.

They can get an eighth victory and sixth league win this coming Saturday against California in a game rescheduled due to the wild fires that swept through the state a few weeks back.

K.J. Costello turned himself into a prime candidate for national awards next year, as he completed almost 67 percent of his passes for 3,198 yards with 28 touchdowns. Costello will has two games left in his season, as the offense will be all his with Bryce Love set to graduate.

Washington State was oh-so-close to finally securing that elusive division title and a spot in the Pac-12 title game, but snow and a strong Washington defense did them in this past weekend.

Needing a victory over the Huskies in the Apple Cup, the Cougars scored just 15 points and watched as those hopes were dashed during a blizzard. Gardner Minshew, who had now thrown for under 300 yards this year, was held to just 152 on 26 completions.

Minshew, a transfer from East Carolina, has 4,477 yards and 36 touchdowns on the year, including six games with over 400 yards. He also had eight games with three-plus touchdowns, including a seven score performance vs. Arizona.

It will also be an interesting offseason for the Cougars, as reports of Mike Leach being a top candidate to return to Texas Tech have surfaced. Minshew will also graduate, leaving an opening at quarterback regardless of who is the head coach.
