ACC Football saw a lot of great action during rivalry week but an ugly brawl between two heated rivals spearheaded an ugly week for the conference.

It’s hard to decide what was the bigger story for ACC Football after this weekend, Larry Fedora being fired or his players getting involved in a fight at the end of the game against  NC State.

With Fedora out the Tarheels moved quickly, already naming former North Carolina and Texas coach Mack Brown as his successor. Will it work? Maybe it will or maybe it won’t. Regardless, it should be entertaining.

First it’s time to wrap things up after the final week of the regular season. Let’s dive into our updated ACC Football power rankings after Week 13.

After losing their ninth game in a row to finish out the season, including giving up 50 or more in the last five games, the Cardinals are still at the bottom of our power rankings after Week 13. The defense is one of the worst in the country and fans can only hope the new head coach will bring a quality defensive staff along to restore this program back to its glory days.

The brawl after losing to NC State in overtime wasn’t the only black eye for the Tar Heels this weekend, as head coach Larry Fedora was fired as well. North Carolina is in a tricky situation, they are only a few years removed from being one of the contenders in the ACC, and if Brown can come in and recruit well then it should become one of the top teams in the conference soon.

The Seminoles needed this win to become bowl eligible, but they couldn’t keep up with the Gators offensive firepower. This has been a disaster of a season for first-year head coach Willie Taggart, and unless there is a vast improvement in year two, he might not be able to get a third.
