Big 12 Football: And then there were two and a championship game

Well hey, Baylor is heading to a bowl game, just two years into the Matt Rhule era! Considering the terrible things that went on at Baylor, and the departures that followed those things, this Baylor team being 6-6 is super impressive. They’re not great by any means, but this is a very good sign for Rhule, and I’m excited to see what his future in Waco looks like.

Just a few weeks ago, TCU was dead in the water. They had lost to Kansas to fall to 3-5, and while their last four games weren’t too tricky, it was very unlikely that they’d do anything more than split the final frame. While they did get crushed by West Virginia, the Horned Frogs did everything they needed to do to get to six wins. Their wins weren’t pretty, but they count just the same, and the Horned Frogs will get some extra bowl practices to start the bounce back next year.
