After Ohio State’s big win over Michigan, the conference championship game for Big Ten football is set. Northwestern vs. Ohio State, who wins?
It has been a wild year in the Big Ten football conference. Except from the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, the other 13 teams finished either above or below expectations from the fans and the media.
We saw Northwestern go winless in non-conference play but finish with just one conference loss, earning them a spot in the conference title game. We saw Michigan’s revenge tour where the Wolverines dominated Michigan State, Penn State and Wisconsin but ended with an embarrassing loss to Ohio State. The Buckeyes, who had an up-and-down season, could sneak into the College Football Playoff but could also have their 29-point loss to Purdue end any chances at a National Championship.
But now, the regular season is complete and we have our Big Ten Championship Game matchup. The Northwestern Wildcats out of the West Division, take on the East Division Champs, the Ohio State Buckeyes. And how both these two teams have played this season, this game could go either way.
My prediction: the Wildcats keep it close but the Buckeyes offense finds it’s stride and pulls away late in the game to win their second straight conference title.
