The Big Ten Championship pits traditional power Ohio State football against the Northwestern Wildcats, here’s what you will see in Saturday’s showdown.

Back in late September, if you would have told anyone that followed college football that Northwestern would be in the Big Ten Championship game, you would’ve been laughed out of the building you were in. But since then, all the Wildcats have done is finish the Big Ten slate with an 8-1 record, their only conference loss to Michigan, where the Wolverines had to come from behind in the fourth quarter and take out the Wildcats.

Ohio State’s road has had more winning than Northwestern’s, but the road has been anything but pleasant. The Buckeyes’ lone loss on the season was a 49-20 thrashing at the hands of Purdue. Ohio State has also suffered scares from teams with far less talent, including Nebraska and an overtime win at Maryland. Dwayne Haskins has been the catalyst, breaking Drew Brees‘ single-season passing touchdown record for the Big Ten.

On paper, this looks like a huge mismatch, but people have written off Northwestern time and time again in 2018. I’m expecting a surprisingly physical game and Ohio State to be given another great test as the Wildcats are looking to keep the Buckeyes out of the College Football Playoff. Without further adieu, here’s some things to expect on Saturday Night.
