The regular season has come to an end, but football is far from over for SEC football. Let’s talk power rankings as we prepare for Championship Week.

I would like to preface this by saying I am taking a future like spin on this one this week. Everyone has beat up on each other at this point — Alabama and Arkansas not withstanding — and trying to order these teams based on record alone just isn’t possible anymore. What we do now, is rank by the total body of work this season and how the team is looking growth wise.

Let’s get started from the bottom, shall we?

This shocks absolutely no one. The Arkansas Razorbacks have been the absolute worst in 2018 in terms of the SEC and maybe in terms of football in general. They are absolutely a wreck and that is honestly an understatement.

Chad Morris isn’t a bad football coach, don’t get me wrong. He could, theoretically take this team to a higher place within the SEC. However, he isn’t the coach of the future for the Razorbacks and without a bowl to look forward to there isn’t much to look forward to at this point.

Ole Miss is not exactly on the same boat as Arkansas, but they don’t fare much better. After electing to sign Matt Luke as their official head coach, this team doesn’t seem to be fairing all too well — especially in the defensive department. The Rebels or Land Sharks, whatever they are, very rarely have issues on the offensive front. Their issue tends to be stopping the other team from scoring and that was their undoing this season.

Could Luke turn it around? Sure, but it is going to take some serious recruiting by him and his team to bolster this defensive front.
