Utah Football vs. Washington: PAC-12 Title Game bold predictions
Utah football and the Washington Huskies highlight a Friday night slate that features only the PAC-12 and MAC Championship Games.
The best game slated for the Friday before the meat of the action occurs during conference championship week comes in the PAC-12 Championship Game between Utah football and the Washington Huskies. The PAC-12 Championship Game is much different from many anticipated it would be really at any point of the regular season.
Washington found its way in the conference title game by way of pulling off a road upset in the Apple Cup last week. The Washington State Cougars were the favorite to come out of the PAC-12 North for most of the latter half of the regular season. It wasn’t until the Apple Cup that the Huskies knocked the Cougars out of both PAC-12 Title and College Football Playoff contention.
Eliminating Wazzu from Playoff contention really leaves just the Oklahoma Sooners and Ohio State Buckeyes up for the final spot in the four team field. That is if everything plays out according to plan in the SEC and ACC Title Games. What happens in the PAC-12 Championship Game shouldn’t have much bearing on the Playoff picture.
However, the Utah Utes come into this game looking to win its first ever PAC-12 Championship Game. In fact, Utah football is coming off its first PAC-12 South crown in general. This is the most successful season, through and through, that Utah football had since departing the Mountain West for the PAC-12.
Washington enters this game as a 5.5-point favorite over the Utes. The over/under for this game is set at 43.5 total points. It kicks off at 6:00 p.m. ET at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, on Nov. 30.
Here’s a look at the three bold predictions for the PAC-12 Championship showdown between the Washington Huskies and Utah football.
