Utah Football vs. Washington: PAC-12 Title Game bold predictions
3. Jake Browning has his best individual performance of 2018
One of the most disappointing quarterbacks in the nation this fall, even though he’s been healthy by all indications, is the senior former PAC-12 Offensive Player of the Year Jake Browning. The Washington Huskies just can’t seem to be the Browning back that it had during its College Football Playoff run back in 2016.
This was actually Browning’s worst campaign since his freshman year back in 2015. Browning tossed just 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions this year. He’s racked up a surprisingly good stat line for some of the more intricate passing numbers. Even his passing yards are hovering around the same point as his career average at nearly 2,700. He still has two more opportunities to reach the 3,000-passing yard mark too.
All in all, Browning posted decent numbers by the considerations of a usual starting quarterback. Washington expects better out of him, though. We know what we’ll get of out Browning now, but he needs to have a huge game here. He has a chance to do something great and notch two PAC-12 Titles in three years.
If Browning is able to complete his passing attempts at a mark around his season total, at 65 percent, he’ll be good to go against a solid Utah football defense. He can also pick up some chunk yardage like he’s done all season, averaging a career-high 8.9 yards per attempt. Browning needs something around the ballpark of 250 passing yards and three touchdowns to have the best performance of his senior campaign.
